Tumkur launches its first bicycle on rent

Tumkur, an interior city in Karnataka is progressing towards growth. The city launched its first bicycle on rent. An app called Yaana that caters to bicycle on rent is now available in the city. This is the first of its kind in the city and so people are appreciating the development. “One of the best eco-friendly commuter. A great initiative from the developer and team” said a user on the app’s official website. These bicycles on rent are available at 15 different locations within the city. These 15 locations also include main points such as railway station and bus stop.

Yaana is a startup company who believe in making cities eco-friendly and less congested. They are committed to build relationships and remove the hassle of commute for daily commuters. Yaana is a solution to connectivity travel problems near college campuses, offices and public transport areas. This initiative was introduced to make Earth a better place to live in. They are now available in 5 cities- Tumkur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Gwalior and Panchkula.

How does the app work?

There are five steps to rent a bicycle and use them through Yaana.

Step 1: Download the Yaana app on your app store.

Step 2: Open the app and find your nearest bicycle.

Step 3: Scan the QR code on the bicycle and unlock the cycle.

Step 4: Use the bicycle for the distance you need to cover.

Step 5: While ending the ride, find the nearest Yaana drop point near your station and park it there. Manually lock the bicycle after parking.

A similar setup is already available in other cities like Bengaluru with Yulu services. Even bikes and scooters are provided that can be rented to cover short distances nowadays. Yaana is a new introduction to the market and they have good competitors. As their services increase there are higher chances for them to promote themselves. They can also claim a good user population for their eco friendly service.
