Mukesh Ambani resigned his position as head of Reliance Jio earlier this week. He handed over the reins to his son Akash Ambani. Akash took over his father’s Reliance Jio on June 27th as the senior Ambani stated in a meeting.
Reliance Jio, founded as a telecommunication company in the year in 2015. It was founded by Mukesh Ambani who also owns other companies. Dhirubai Ambani, a successful businessman during the 80’s founded Reliance-The Company. Reliance owned multiple other branches such as power, health, supermarket, fashion, etc. Later on Dhirubai Ambani divided his companies amongst his two sons, Anil Ambani and Mukesh Ambani. After these companies the latter also introduced Jio, which became a hit amongst Indian citizens.
Initially Jio started off as a networking tele company. They are known for their cheap prices of pre-paid net packs. A lot of Indian citizens started purchasing Jio net packs. Jio also provided certain perks like unlimited talk time and extra data. Slowly from only network, they developed and started producing their own brand of button type mobile phones. Even those were offered at a cheaper price and then became one of India’s favorite mobile phone. Till date a lot of people still prefer a Jio phone or network over other phones and network brands.
